Ask a plain question — movements, influence, education, exhibitions, holdings, peers. Every answer carries its provenance.
John Henry Foley was an Irish sculptor based in London whose monumental public works established him as a leading figure in Victorian commemorative sculpture. He is known for the colossal statues of Daniel O'Connell at the O'Connell Monument in Dublin and Prince Albert at the Albert Memorial in London, as well as significant sculptural commissions across India. His practice centered on heroic portraiture and allegorical form executed in marble and bronze at architectural scale.
