Samuel Ireland was an English printmaker and draughtsman active in the late eighteenth century, known for his reproductive engravings and etchings after contemporary paintings and old masters. Working primarily in line engraving and etching, he produced numerous plates for book illustration and portfolio publication. Ireland's technical precision and prolific output established him as a significant figure in the reproductive print trade during the Georgian period.
