David Edwin was an English engraver and printmaker active in Philadelphia from the early 19th century onward. Working primarily in line engraving and stipple engraving, he produced portraits, historical subjects, and reproductive prints that circulated widely in early American print culture. His technical precision and prolific output established him as a significant figure in the dissemination of European artistic imagery to American audiences during a period when original prints remained scarce and costly in the new republic.
