Hélène Binet is a Swiss photographer born in 1959 whose practice centers on architectural documentation and the material surfaces of built form. Working primarily in black and white, she employs large-format film and careful attention to light and shadow to reveal the spatial and tactile qualities of contemporary and modernist structures. Her work investigates how photography can render the temporal and phenomenological experience of architecture rather than merely record its appearance.
