Ask a plain question — movements, influence, education, exhibitions, holdings, peers. Every answer carries its provenance.
Anthoni Schoonjans, a Flemish painter nicknamed Parhasius, specialized in portraiture and history painting across multiple European courts. After training in Antwerp, he established an international career as a court painter in Vienna, Copenhagen, Berlin, and Düsseldorf, working across France, Italy, Germany, Austria, the Dutch Republic, and Denmark. His practice bridged the transition between late Baroque and early modern court painting traditions.
