Anna Ancher was a Danish painter known for her intimate interior scenes and portraits rendered in warm, naturalistic light. Working in the Skagen artists' colony in northern Denmark from the 1880s onward, she developed a distinctive approach to domestic subjects that established her as a significant figure in Scandinavian realism.
