Ask a plain question — movements, influence, education, exhibitions, holdings, peers. Every answer carries its provenance.
Asa Cheffetz was an American wood engraver whose precisely detailed compositions employed the full tonal range of the medium. Working primarily in the early-to-mid twentieth century, he developed a distinctive approach to narrative and landscape subjects through the inherent constraints of the wood block, achieving a subtle gradation of light that distinguished his prints from more graphic contemporary work.
