Auguste Delaherche was a French ceramicist whose stoneware and porcelain vessels exemplify the material experimentation of Art Nouveau. Central to his practice was an intense investigation of glaze surfaces, where color and texture became ends in themselves rather than ornament. Working through the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, Delaherche refined his techniques across both earthenware and porcelain bodies, establishing himself as a principal voice in French art pottery during a period of radical material innovation.
