Ivana Kobilca was a Slovenian painter active in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Born in Ljubljana in 1861, she worked primarily in oil and watercolor, producing figurative compositions and portraits that engaged with contemporary European academic painting traditions. Her practice was rooted in careful observation of light and domestic interior scenes. Kobilca remains a significant figure in early modern Slovenian art history.
