About

Why this artist matters now

Manuel Espinosa was an Argentine painter associated with geometric abstraction and Concrete Art. After an early surrealist phase, he shifted toward non-figuration in the mid-1940s, co-founding the Asociación Arte Concreto-Invención in Buenos Aires. His mature work employs serial progressions of simple forms to generate optical vibration and luminous depth on canvas.
