Mykhailo Semenko was a Ukrainian avant-garde poet and theorist who founded Futurism in Ukraine during the early 20th century. He championed radical linguistic innovation and experimental poetic forms, positioning Ukrainian modernism within the broader European avant-garde. Semenko's career was curtailed by Soviet political repression, ending in 1937.
