Sky Hopinka is an American video artist whose practice centers on Indigenous sovereignty, colonial history, and the politics of representation. Working primarily in multi-channel video installation and documentary forms, Hopinka examines landscapes, language, and archive as sites of cultural assertion and resistance. His work engages Chinook and other Pacific Northwest Indigenous perspectives through layered sound design, ethnographic inquiry, and formal experimentation that resists conventional documentary conventions.
