Abel's Sacrifice

Cornelis Bos was a Netherlandish engraver and draughtsman active in the sixteenth century, known for his elaborate allegorical and mythological prints executed in a detailed Northern Renaissance style. Working primarily in engraving and etching, he produced complex compositions that combined classical subject matter with intricate decorative linework characteristic of Antwerp printmaking. His prints circulated widely across Northern Europe, influencing the dissemination of Italian Renaissance motifs beyond Italy.
