Portrait of Frederikke Tuxen

Peder Severin Krøyer was a Danish painter and a leading figure of the Skagen Painters movement in late 19th-century Denmark. Working primarily in oil, he depicted coastal landscapes, fishermen, and domestic interiors with luminous color and naturalistic detail. His work bridged academic training and plein-air practice, establishing him as a central artist of Scandinavian realism.
