Henri-Edmond Cross was a French painter and a leading figure in the Neo-Impressionist movement, working primarily in oil on canvas with the systematic dot-and-dash brushwork of Divisionism. Active from the 1880s until his death in 1910, he developed a distinctive approach to landscape and seascape that emphasized luminous color harmonies and atmospheric effects.
