Anne Stirling Maxwell (1906–2011)

William Nicholson was a British painter, printmaker, and designer active from the 1890s through the mid-twentieth century. He worked across oil painting, lithography, and wood engraving, establishing himself as a significant figure in British modernism and the Arts and Crafts movement. His practice encompassed portraiture, still life, and landscape, executed with formal restraint and a refined sense of color and composition.
