Giovanni Giacometti is a Swiss Post-Impressionist painter known for luminous alpine landscapes and intimate domestic scenes rendered in vibrant, Divisionist-inflected color. A contemporary of Cuno Amiet and father of Alberto Giacometti, he worked primarily in the Engadin valley, translating its light and terrain into richly chromatic canvases.
