Drawing
Leopold von Kalckreuth was a German painter and printmaker active in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Working primarily in oil and etching, he developed a naturalistic approach to figure composition and landscape that engaged with both academic tradition and emerging modernist tendencies. Based in Hamburg and later Berlin, he became a significant figure in German art circles during the Wilhelmine and Weimar periods.
