Waclaw Szpakowski
Waclaw Szpakowski was a Polish painter and draughtsman whose abstract linear compositions, developed from the 1920s onward, anticipated geometric abstraction through rigorous systems of intersecting lines and geometric forms. Working primarily in ink and pencil, he created densely layered compositions that explored the visual possibilities of mathematical and rhythmic patterning. His practice remained largely independent of major art movements, developing in relative isolation in Poland throughout the twentieth century. This profile will be expanded as more verified source material becomes available.
