Alfonso Bialetti was an Italian engineer and designer best known for inventing the Moka pot, a stovetop coffee brewer that became a cornerstone of domestic Italian culture. Born in 1888 in Cuginesco, he founded his manufacturing company in Crusinallo in 1901, establishing an industrial approach to domestic metalware that prioritized function and affordability. His design combined aluminum casting with mechanical innovation, creating an object that remains in production and use worldwide nearly a century after its introduction.
