André Carneiro was a Brazilian painter and sculptor whose postwar practice engaged abstraction and figuration in dialogue with European modernism. Born in 1922, he worked across painting, sculpture, and printmaking, developing a body of work that reflected the intellectual currents of São Paulo's mid-century art scene.
