John Von Wicht (1888, 1970) was an American painter and sculptor whose abstract geometric compositions emerged from a synthesis of Cubist and Constructivist principles. Working primarily in oil on canvas and three-dimensional form, he developed a rigorous approach to color relationships and spatial structure that eschewed representation. Von Wicht's practice positioned abstraction as a complete visual language rather than a departure from observational art. This profile will be expanded as more verified source material becomes available.
