Photography

James Barnor is a Ghanaian photographer born in 1929 whose practice spans portraiture, street photography, and documentary work across West Africa and London. Working primarily in color and black-and-white film from the 1950s onward, he documented the social and cultural life of postwar Ghana and the Ghanaian diaspora in Britain. His photographs capture intimate domestic scenes, urban landscapes, and individual subjects with a keen attention to light, gesture, and the texture of everyday life.
