Upon his graduation from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 1957, Richard Hunt won the coveted James Nelson Raymond Foreign Travel Fellowship, enabling him to visit England, Italy, Spain, and France. Best known for his public sculpture, Hunt is also a master draftsman. Working fluidly in both artistic modes, his drawings recall the curvilinear forms found in his sculpture, which are always tied to his careful observation of nature.
