Toshi Ichiyanagi was a Japanese composer and pianist whose postwar practice bridged experimental Western techniques with Japanese musical traditions. Active from the 1950s onward, he worked across orchestral, chamber, and electronic compositions, establishing himself as a significant voice in twentieth-century avant-garde music.
