Carol Rama was an Italian painter and draughtsman whose abstract and figurative works emerged from postwar Turin's experimental culture. Working across ink, watercolor, and oil, she developed a distinctive visual language combining gestural abstraction with erotic and mythological imagery. Her practice remained largely independent of mainstream art-historical narratives, sustained by a commitment to formal invention and psychological intensity that deepened across seven decades of production.
