N orman Rockwell (1894–1978) was a celebrated American illustrator and painter best known for his iconic covers for The Saturday Evening Post and his nostalgic, often humorous portrayals of everyday American life. His influential career also addressed major social issues such as civil rights and war, earned him the Presidential Medal of Freedom, and has made his work highly valued in museums and at auction.
