Lady Tenerife

Martín Chirino was a Spanish sculptor whose abstract iron and steel constructions emerged from postwar European modernism. Working primarily in forged and welded metal, he developed a vocabulary of organic, curvilinear forms that suggested movement and lightness despite the material's weight. His practice bridged geometric abstraction and biomorphic sculpture, exploring how industrial materials could evoke natural phenomena.
