Hervé Télémaque
Hervé Télémaque was a Haitian painter whose work merged abstract gestural mark-making with figural and symbolic imagery drawn from Caribbean history and diaspora experience. Active from the 1960s onward, he developed a distinctive visual language that layered geometric abstraction, portraiture, and collage elements to engage questions of identity, colonialism, and displacement. His paintings combined bold chromatic fields with densely worked surfaces that resisted easy legibility. This profile will be expanded as more verified source material becomes available.
