Jürgen Klauke is a German artist born in 1943 whose practice spans photography, video, and performance. Working primarily with his own body as subject and material, he has developed a sustained investigation into identity, gender, and the vulnerability of the self since the 1970s. His photographs and video installations employ direct confrontation and formal precision to interrogate social conventions and corporeal presence.
