Rory McEwen was a British painter and printmaker known for his meticulous botanical and natural history illustrations executed in watercolor and gouache. Working from the 1950s until his death in 1982, he developed a distinctive practice that combined scientific precision with an artist's formal sensibility, often depicting plants, fungi, and geological specimens at monumental scale.
