Mario Cravo Neto was a Brazilian photographer and mixed-media artist who worked extensively with photographic negatives, collage, and sculptural intervention. His practice engaged with abstraction and material transformation, often layering and reassembling found photographs and objects to create densely textured compositions that resisted singular interpretation. Active from the 1970s onward, Cravo Neto's work occupied a distinctive space between photography, sculpture, and assemblage within postwar Brazilian artistic discourse.
