Berni Searle is a South African artist working across photography, video, and installation. Her practice engages with questions of identity, displacement, and the colonial archive, often using her own body as a site of inquiry and resistance. Working since the 1990s, Searle constructs layered compositions that interrogate race, gender, and belonging within post-apartheid contexts.
