Sunny Window

Matilda Browne was an American painter and illustrator active in the early twentieth century. Working primarily in oil and watercolor, she depicted landscapes, portraits, and genre scenes with a refined academic technique rooted in late nineteenth-century salon practice. Based in New York, she maintained a studio practice spanning several decades and contributed to the visual culture of the Gilded Age and interwar periods.
