Nicolas Coustou
Sculpture
Nicolas Coustou was a French sculptor working in marble and bronze during the late seventeenth and early eighteenth centuries. He trained under his uncle Antoine Coysevox and became known for monumental public commissions and portrait busts executed in a restrained classical idiom. His works were installed in royal and ecclesiastical settings throughout France.
